Canadian citizenship fees

As of March 31, 2026, an ordinary adult citizenship grant costs $653: a $530 processing fee plus a $123 right-of-citizenship fee. A minor grant application remains $100 under the current fee table.

Pay the fee for the correct service

Grant, proof, resumption and renunciation are different applications with different charges. A person who is already a citizen should seek a certificate rather than pay for a grant.

Use IRCC’s online fee tool immediately before paying.

Account for the 2026 increase

The adult right-of-citizenship component rose to $123 on March 31, 2026, while the $530 processing component did not change. Applications received after the change need the current total.

IRCC may request a fee difference when an old amount was paid.

Understand refund rules

The processing fee generally is not refundable once processing starts. The right-of-citizenship fee can be refunded when an application is refused or withdrawn before citizenship is granted.

Keep the payment receipt and application number for any request.

Budget for non-government costs

Photographs, translations, language testing, records and professional help are separate from IRCC fees. No representative can sell faster citizenship or guarantee approval.
